Timor: Rebirth of a legendary watch

Helping to promote a new premium watch model from Timor. Brand's financial target smashed within 24 hours...

The Brief

The Timor Watch Company was originally founded in 1923, and quickly became a household name in Britain. Known their reliability and thorough testing, it wasn't long before they were approached by the British Army, to develop a watch under the new Army Trade Pattern. This year is the 75th anniversary of Timor’s legendary watches shipping to British troops during WWII. Timor is marking this occasion with the release of the Heritage Field watch.

Turbine Creative were asked to create marketing material to help promote the watch's launch. Following discussion with the Timor brand and design team we began creating a video that harnessed this incredible story.

Using both hand drawn illustrations, WWII live action footage and photo realistic 3D modelling we aimed to bring this legendary story to a contemporary market. Thereby reflecting the manufacturer's passion for re-launching a modern version of this historical watch.

We also created a series of still imagery for social media and a glossy brochure for additional promotional activity.

The Result

Timor Watch Company had an ambitious financial target of pre-orders. Within 24 hours of launching the video and pre-order campaign the financial target had been smashed by nearly 200%.

The overall feedback from the video has been incredibly positive and helped motivate curious military collectors, horologists and general consumers alike to pre-order in their masses.
