The Turbine Creative team had the privilege of producing a promotional video campaign for Lectio 365, the daily prayer and reflection app from 24-7 Prayer. With over 2 million downloads, Lectio 365 offers three short moments of guided reflection each day (morning, midday and evening), helping people build a habit of pause, focus and calm into busy lives.

Whether you come to it from a place of faith or simply as a tool for daily mindfulness, apps like Lectio 365 have become part of a much bigger conversation about mental wellbeing, routine and intentional living. That's exactly the brief the 24-7 Prayer team brought to us: create a campaign film that reflects the diversity of people who use the app, wherever life finds them.
Here's how we approached the production, and what it took to shoot across multiple locations, with a large cast and crew, in just two days.
The Brief: Show the App's Reach, Not Just the App
Lectio 365 is used by people of every age and background, in every kind of moment: on a commute, on a walk, at home with family, out running with friends. Rather than shoot in a single studio setting, the creative concept called for four distinct real-world locations, each capturing a different life stage and rhythm:
A young family at home
A commuter on the tram
An older couple walking in the hills
A runner out at night with friends

This kind of concept is brilliant for storytelling, but it's genuinely demanding from a production standpoint. Four locations, four different lighting setups, four casts (including children of varying ages), and a single, tight two-day window across the East Midlands.
Production Logistics: Planning a Multi-Location Shoot That Actually Works

This is where the planning work behind the scenes really earns its keep. A few of the key logistical challenges we solved for this shoot:
Casting across age groups, including children. Working with children on set requires its own approach: shorter takes, flexible scheduling, welfare considerations, and a director who can get a natural, unforced performance without dozens of retakes. Every location had its own casting brief, and we built the schedule around the cast members with the tightest availability first.
Location scouting and sequencing. With four locations across two days, route and light were everything. We sequenced the shoot day by day and hour by hour to make the most of natural light (golden hour for the hillside walk, blue hour and practicals for the night run), while keeping travel time between locations as tight as possible.
A lean but fully resourced crew.
Multi-location shoots can easily become unwieldy if the crew is too large to move quickly. We kept the unit efficient without compromising production value:
Director: Tim Bassford
DoP: Dave Stewart
Camera Assistant: Matt Hodgen
Second Camera Operator & BTS: Steve Illsley
BTS Photography: Ali J Photography
Producer: Matt Buck Production Support: Kate Bassford

Contingency built in from day one. Weather, light, and working with non-professional talent all introduce variables. Every location had a backup plan baked into the schedule so a delay in one spot didn't put the whole day at risk.
The result: a two-day shoot across four East Midlands locations, multiple cast groups including children, and a full crew, delivered on schedule.
Why This Kind of Production Matters
Campaigns like this are a good example of what a creative agency actually does day to day: not just concept and direction, but the operational backbone that makes an ambitious idea achievable in a realistic timeframe and budget. For a client like 24-7 Prayer, that meant a partner who could take a genuinely values-led, purpose-driven brief and turn it into a polished, professional campaign film without the production process becoming the bottleneck.
