Team GB x ParalympicsGB
Athlete Games Time Journal
Creation of an in depth and interactive, illustrated athlete journal. Co-production with paralympian Claire Taggart.

The Brief
Over the last few winter and Olympic Games both Team GB x ParalympicsGB have produced Games Time journals to support athletes’ mental health. The journals give athletes a resource to support mindfulness, focus and a place to record their feelings and experiences during the Games.
Following feedback from athletes and other team members they wanted this year’s journal to feel more fun and less like an academic work book, so they approached us with this updated brief.

Our Solution
We began this process by liaising with the stakeholder team including mental health officers, professional athletes, coaches and comms team members and discussed the focus and desired outcomes of this project. We then developed various stylistic options that answered this brief.
After various iterations the team chose a fluid mixture of hand drawn line art, watercolours and textured paper - all designed to encourage athletes to draw, write and doodle their thoughts throughout the booklet.
We created journals for both Team GB and ParalympicsGB. All of which were enhanced by the illustrations and puzzles created by paralympian Claire Taggart.
The responses to both journals has been extremely positive and we were delighted to have played a role in supporting the incredible successes of both teams in the summer Paris Games 2024.

“We worked with Turbine Creative to create two Games Time Journals for the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. From the very beginning Tim and the team understood the brief and shared our passion for this project and helped us to create two wonderful journals. Building on a previous iteration the team came up with a beautiful and creative design that really captured the spirit of the Games and the messaging we wanted to get across. It was a pleasure to work with Turbine Creative on this.”
